School Visits |
If you would like me to visit your school, you can arrange this through the NZ Book Council or through Kiwi Write4Kidz. Or if you're keen to talk but we're in different parts of the country, you can book a Skype call in your classroom through Book Talks.
I take my laptop everywhere. I like Skype video calls. It's more chatty and relaxed, as if we're talking in my living room. I used Skype for the first time when I went to Iowa City to take part in the International Writing Program in 2009.
I visit schools for talks and to do special projects. Sometimes children help me with craft or cooking projects that I'm writing for children's magazines. Over the last ten years, we've made things like fortune cookies, fish burgers and wedges, Greek and Indian feasts, mosaic pots, marbled paper, altered art, electronic board games, burglar alarms, and friendship scrapbooks.
If you have a question about this please contact me.
